My Favorite Haute San Antonio Venues - san antonio wedding planner

One of the most important decisions you will make in the planning process is, where to hold the wedding ceremony and reception.  Choose correctly and you will have a fabulous event, but choose wrong, and you will be stressed and over budget.  Haute Weddings has had the pleasure of working with numerous facilities throughout San Antonio and the surrounding areas, BUT we definitely have our favorites.  Hiring a wedding planner early on in the process to help with this decision, will allow you to know all the in's and out's of the property, find the hidden hosts, and make sure it fits within the budget along with everything else you will want and need.  Here are a few of our favs…(in no particular order) : ) La Orilla Del Rio Ballroom, formerly knows as the International Center

Reasons we like it:

  • Ceiling to floor windows allowing natural light to stream in during the day and the romance of the city lights to shine through at night.
  • Huge wrap-around balcony brings the outdoors in
  • Sleek, cool, modern décor gives a great sexy ambiance
  • Right off the river.  Guests can actually travel b y river

Southwest School of Art

Reasons we like it:

  • Right off the river as well, but on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of downtown
  • The perfect spot if you want something close to downtown, but still want that romantic, garden, old-world feel.
  • Free parking
  • Lots of character and charm with hardwood floors and beams, historic chandeliers, stained glass and tapestries inside, and beautiful, lush garden courtyards outside

The Pearl Stable

  • Formerly the Pearl Brewery and located in the hip new area, now knows as The Pearl.
  • Lots of architectural detail.  A hint to the décor which made it a brewery, but updated with a beautifully crafted iron chandelier, lots of wood accents and rich carpets.
  • Lots of space but decorated in a way that feels intimate, lots of character, lots of charm
  • Free Parking

Witte Museum

Reasons why we like it:

  • It’s kind of like the movie, A Night at the Museum, where you kind of feel like you’re not supposed to be there, but you’re so glad you are.
  • Beyond the exhibits are multiple ballrooms and numerous romantic outdoor ceremony sites
  • Large space in which to design a personalized floor-plan
  • Lots of flexibility
  • Lots of windows allowing for natural light
  • The staff is amazing to work with – shout out to Autumn!!!
  • Free Parking

Kendall Plantation

Reasons why we like it:

  • Just outside SA, so you feel like you’re miles away in the quiet country, but you’re really just down the road and around the corner.
  • Extremely unique venue with all the character and charms of the long forgotten Southern colonial mansions.
  • Shutters, wrap around porches, wooden floors, elegant chandeliers, (not just one, but four), and a large grand staircase, is only a hint of the grandeur and elegance this property contains.
  •  Views of the hill-country and beautiful Texas sunsets
  • Gazebo for outdoor ceremonies in front of an emerald blue pond
  • Lots of parking !!! : )
