I was so excited to receive an invitation to attend the EVENT PROFESSIONAL'S DAY IN THE HILL COUNTRY. Unless I have a bride who is already booked at a Hill Country Venue, I typically do not refer clients out in that direction. Unless of course, that is particularly what they are wanting. I found that I am comfortable with my San Antonio and surrounding area venues, and to be honest, it is quite a drive to some of those Hill Country facilities. I was excited because the venues provided a shuttle service to pick all of us up and drive us to 2 venues.
Our first stop was in Blanco at the Best Western Luxury Inn and Suites. Cute, cute, property and only a 15 minute drive to several Hill Country facilities, AND wineries. It had a charming garden theme going on and I could totally see spending a day touring wineries and settling in here.
Our next destination was the Studios at Fischer. I had previously seen photos of this location, but the photos do not do it justice. The place is designed with a little Hill Country charm, rustic, modern, vintage, chic...I know...sounds like a complete mess, but it's not. IT IS OH SO DAMN COOL!!! And I like it because it isn't your average cookie cutter facility. You can really think outside the box at this one!
Our final location was Rancho Mirando, also in Fischer, TX, just a few miles down the road from the Studios at Fischer. What a jewel! A large property with a house that sleeps 16, several ceremony sites and 2 reception areas. The decor was out of this world! It is one of those magical dream places that when you step in, time stops, or at least you want it to stop, so you can stay there forever.
Long story, short - Hill Country Venues are definitely worth the drive. I have found that those who own these venues are people with big dreams and big hearts. They have a love and passion for life and they want to share it with those they come in contact with. The venues are a reflection of that love and joy, and you feel at home once you enter. And don't want to leave! lol
