I knew I was in for something different when I met the bride and groom and both of their names were pronounced, Ryan. Ryan the groom and Ryanne the blushing bride, whose wedding theme was bursting with romance and pretty pinks at Kendall Plantation.
When the knot.com requested photos from a Hill Country wedding, Courtney and Andrew's was the first one that popped into my head. These two adventurous souls incorporated the love of the outdoors from the groom, the chic and glamorous style of the bride, and their love of their college alma mater, A&M, and mastered it all beautifully within their wedding.

We are honored to be on the Preferred Vendor List for Wedding Coordinating at The Marquardt Ranch. We absolutely love the venue and working with the staff out at the Marquardt. We recently participated in their open house in which they were giving away $5000 of services to one lucky winner! We were so grateful to be there with a handful of vendors that we love: Bartenders 4 You, Dos Kiwis, Mark Thomas Pro Photo, Chic Concepts, Southern Sitters, and Parties by Design. Here are some photos of our set up....
As a wedding planner, I could give you lots of reasons as to why to hire a wedding planner. So, I'll just give you a few:
- Groom's cake disaster
We also have done the following and saved the day...
- fixed boutonnieres
- made bouquets from extra flowers
- fixed wedding cakes
- pinned broken bustles
- sewed broken bustles
- stood in for MC for DJ
- handed out band aids, scissors, hair clips, paper clips, safety pins, tape, kleenex, nail clippers, pens, crazy glue and more to wedding guests, wedding party, and vendors
- put on brides shoes
- hold up wedding dress so bride can go potty
- act as security when needed (our least favorite)
- supply cake knife and server when forgotten
- supply votive candles when forgotten
- supply reserved signs when forgotten
- supply last minute DJ when DJ friend of bridesmaid didn't show up
- tie on old-fashioned bow ties (the ones WITHOUT the clips)
- step in as bar back, step in as bartender, served wine and or champagne
- act as banquet manager
- make plates in back of kitchen
- drain ice sculpture bucket
- clean up/pick up rose petals off ground/dance floor/church aisle
The list can LITERALLY go on and on.....so if you are on the fence as to whether or not to hire a planner, maybe some of these just gave you the push you needed. : )
Wes, Emily and I, kinda connected on a bet. Not a Blackjack 21 bet, but a bet that I could help them get an elegant, Southern Charm themed wedding on a fixed, tight budget. Hahahaha! Guess who won? Winna winna chicken dinna! I lovingly call them my Barbie and Ken couple because they are both so drop dead gorgeous. But, what is really beautiful about these two, is their tender hearts. They are both so loving and giving and generous, that they definitely deserved the wedding they wished for. They opted for a custom Haute Weddings Service package that included the catering, china settings, floral arrangements, linens, design and decor, and cake, and saved a fortune. Please join us as we celebrate the opening of the area's newest event facility. Inspired by the historic and elegant plantation houses of Louisiana, The Kendall Plantation is the only one of its kind in the Hill Country and surrounding area. The owners spared no expense in decor and design of the Plantation with its 13 foot wrap around porches and monumental French doors leading into the ballroom with a graceful grand staircase, wood floors, detailed moldings, and Antebellum-style architecture.
Wednesday, November 2nd
20 Guthrie Road, Boerne
Joining the celebration will be a variety of the wedding industry's finest vendors. Enjoy a relaxing setting where you can speak one on one with a wedding professional as they help make your dream wedding a reality. Come taste, touch, and feel the many products and services these vendors have to offer at the elegant Kendall Plantation.
Event Coordinated by Haute Weddings. Hope to see you there!
