Erika and Jon at the Witte - San Antonio Wedding Planner

Erika and Jonathan tied the knot back in May at St John's Lutheran Church downtown and held their reception at the Witte Museum.  Her colors were cobalt blue and white, with touches of lime green.  Perfect colors for a spring-time event!  Their event was quite traditional but with modern surprises such as an array of food stations from Spice of Life catering, creative lighting from Illuminating Celebrations, and a video bar from Haute Cocktails.  Photos courtesy of Gary Gibson Photography.

I work with some of the BEST clients and Kim and Michael definitely fit the bill.  We first met to discuss Day Of Coordinating and they ended up also hiring Haute Weddings for catering, bar and beverage service, and chocolate fountain.  Then they used our recommended vendor list to secure flowers by De Vinnie's Paradise and lighting from Illuminating Celebrations.  There was a little anxiety as the Witte Museum was adding on a new extension.  But it was finished right on schedule as Autumn, facility coordinator for the Witte, had promised and they had the outdoor ceremony they dreamed of.  Photos courtesy of Photographically Ever After.

When I first met Alison, I was instantly intrigued.  She had a natural beauty, athletic build, and Goldilocks hair.  She was quiet and reserved.  Quite the mystery.  Then, she told me she was currently living in Washington DC and working for the FBI.  My mind instantly took me to images of covert affairs and dangerous missions.  Although, Alison has an adventurous spirit, this was not the case.  In her heart, she is a Texas girl, in love, wanting to settle down with the man she loves. Alison and Ben married in September at the Witte Museum.  She loves the color purple and wanted everything purple, so I nick-named her wedding the Purple Passion.  Passion, not only for her desire to have everything purple, but for the passion she and Ben shared for one another, their family, and for their faith.  They wanted an outside ceremony and the day of the rehearsal was sunny, bright, and beautiful.  The actually day of their wedding, not so much.  We were actually anticipating heavy rain and thunderstorms right at the time of her scheduled ceremony.  About an hour and a half prior to starting, she had to make a decision, and with a heavy heart, we persuaded her to move the ceremony inside.

This happens more often than we'd like to admit, and the goal of the Haute Weddings team is to make every decision look like Plan A, and not Plan B.  With the help of Alison's family and friends who were doing all the floral decor, we moved and set up everything inside, and it was absolutely beautiful.  I know she ultimately wanted it outside, but afterwards, she was happy with the intimacy and elegance the inside setting provided.
