Spectrum Labs has secured $32 million in investment to further develop its AI-based content moderation system. As a result of the new innovations, Spectrum Labs will be able to monitor millions of daily conversations for hazardous messages. The software claims to be able to find and stop bad communication in less than 20 milliseconds.

The cash will be used by Spectrum Labs to continue investing in its technology, doubling down on its burgeoning consumer company, and moving ahead in a new direction. For businesses, they want to help them with both internal and customer-facing dialogues, not only as a way to see when toxicity is sneaking into conversations, but also as a way to keep track of bigger trust and safety efforts.

The round is led by Intel Capital, with participation from Munich Re Ventures, Gaingels, OurCrowd, Harris Barton, and prior investors Wing Venture Capital, Greycroft, Ridge Ventures, Superset, and Global Founders Capital.Greycroft led Spectrum's latest $10 million round in September 2020, bringing the total raised to $46 million.

Today, Spectrum Labs collaborates with more than 20 large-scale platforms, including Pinterest, The Meet Group, and Grindr. These companies have millions of clients that send billions of messages to one another, either in open chat rooms or in more direct, private discussions, which Spectrum Labs checks for toxic content.
